Market introduction:

Mercedes-Benz launched the GLE Coupe for the first time in India in late 2020.

Variants:

The SUV is available in two variants – GLE Coupe 53 4Matic Plus Coupe and GLE Coupe 63 S 4Matic Plus Coupe.

Engine and transmission:

The SUV is powered by a 2,999cc inline six-cylinder twin-scroll turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system mated to an AMG Speedshift TCT nine-speed automatic transmission. It produces 429bhp and 520Nm of torque.

Exterior:

This GLE Series high-performance SUV has a coupé-shaped roofline. It is 4,961mm in length and has a 2,935mm wheelbase. Besides, the car features multibeam LED headlamps with ultra-range high beam assist and boomerang-shaped DRLs with adaptive LED taillamps at the rear end. It also gets an AMG spec grille, bumpers and a small tailgate spoiler. Mercedes-Benz offers 21-inch AMG alloy wheels with the SUV as standard.

Interior:

This car comes with two-tone Nappa leather upholstery for the AMG sports seats - Black or Truffle Brown/Black. On the other hand, the dashboard and beltline feature Artico leather. There are also two-colour options for the seat belts - black and red. Additionally, the cabin has two 12.3-inch MBUX displays - a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment touchscreen. Moreover, it features a memory package, a 13-speaker Burmester sound system, 64 colours of ambient lighting and a wireless charging pad.

Safety and features:

The GLE 53 4Matic Coupé has plenty of features such as a panoramic sunroof, an AMG performance steering wheel, a head-up display, an AMG Night package, four-zone temperature control, AMG active exhaust system, AMG Dynamic Select, an AMG Active Ride Control+ adaptive performance suspension system, 4Matic+ fully variable torque distribution, active brake assist, and active park assist with surround-view cameras. 

Seating capacity:

The Mercedes AMG GLE coupe is a five-seater SUV. 

Colours:

This SUV is available in eight paint alternatives - Polar White and Hyacinth Red, Brilliant Blue, Cavansite Blue, Emerald Green, Mojave Silver, Obsidian Black and Selenite Grey. Apart from Polar White, all other colours are with metallic finishes. 

Rivals:

The Mercedes AMG GLE coupe rivals the Porsche Cayenne Coupe, BMW X5, Jaguar F-Pace, and the Audi Q8.
